ASSOCIATIONS

Water, sun, fire, earth. Known as a fourfold in the natural world. 

MAGICKAL FOLKLORE

Native to Eygpt, the flowers were used to honour the living and the dead as a symbol of eternal life. Known as a symbol of the sun god Ra. Like the Sun-God, the flowers open in the morning and close as the Sun begins to set. At night, they are submerged below the surface of the water, to be reborn the following day. Can be used in blessings to the sun and to connect to the divine. In Buddhism it is seen to be the flower to overcome victory of the senses with intelligence and wisdom.
